There is such a wide variety of attractions for you to visit while holidaying in this area.  We have detailed some places that may be of interest to you.

Farmers Markets

Farmers Markets offer you fresh, high quality food which is all locally produced.  The markets are held in historic villages and vibrant High Street locations and are a great venue to source some stunning locally produced cheeses, meats, breads, vegetables and much, much more. 

  • Bridgwater Farmers Market, Fore Street - 2nd Friday of every month from 9am - 1pm
  • Glastonbury Farmers Market, St Johns car park - 4th Saturday of every month from 9am - 1pm
  • Minehead Country Market, Friends Meeting House, Bancks Street - every Friday from 9am - 11.30am
  • Taunton Farmers Market, High Street - every Thursday from 9am - 3pm
  • Wellington Farmers Market, The Square - 3rd Saturday of every month

 

Other local attractions of interest are:-

  • West Somerset Railway (www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk).  Definitely worth a trip on the steam train!
  • The Cliff Railway at Lynton and Lynmouth (www.cliffrailwaylynton.co.uk)
  • Dunster:  A medieval village including a working watermill and the National Trust Dunster Castle and grounds

  • Tarr Steps Woodland Natural Nature Reserve, Dulverton.  A lovely area for walking with a hotel offering refreshments close by.
  • Sheppy's Cider Farm near Taunton (www.sheppyscider.com).  A chance to taste our famous Somerset cider! 
  • Selworthy, Horner & Porlock Weir, West Somerset (www.porlock.co.uk).  Quaint villages to explore with stunning views and glorious tea rooms!

 

Shopping

If you want to indulge in a little retail therapy, there are some good places for shopping nearby.  Not far from us in Street is Clarks Village which is an outlet shopping centre and has a wide variety of shops from Gap, M&S, Clarks, Radley, Coast, Timberland and much more.  In Bristol there is Cribbs Shopping Mall which hosts an abundance of shops including John Lewis and M&S and nearby in the city of Bristol is the new 'Cabot Circus' shopping area which boasts Harvey Nichols amongst other stylish shops.
